In order to most efficiently control fleas, it takes effort from both sides. Quality Exterminators of GA, Inc. will use a chemical treatment to treat for fleas in your home and/or yard. Usually, one treatment is adequate as long as we have cooperation from the customer. Vacuuming and patience will go a long way!
If you’re struggling with a full-blown infestation, fleas must be controlled at every stage of their life cycle. The team at Quality Exterminators of GA, Inc. knows how to kill adult fleas and prevent future generations from breeding, giving you the long-term protection you deserve.
A typical inspection will involve checking areas where pets spend most of their time.
Hand-held sprayers and aerosol are recommended over foggers, as you can direct the spray under beds or other places that the foggers may be unable to reach.
We choose an insecticide that contains both an adulticide (kills adult fleas), and an insect growth regulator (kills the eggs, larvae, and pupae).
People and pets shouldn’t come into contact with an insecticide or chemical treatment until it has dried and we will instruct you on how to avoid them.
Exterior flea treatments usually involve liquid or granule chemical treatments. This could be 10-foot perimeter around your house or the entire property.
We’re passionate about helping people just like you get rid of unwanted pest problems. As such, we are proud to be the only pest control company in Statesboro, GA promising excellence in value, service, and trust.
Flea infestations usually start with your cat or dog. These pests attach themselves to your pets when they’re outside, and then infest their fur and areas they sleep indoors. This means to control fleas successfully, you need to treat the inside of your home and your yard! Luckily, Quality Exterminators of GA, Inc. can help. If you’re dealing with a flea infestation, or want to safeguard your home from these jumping pests, call 912-764-6173 today!
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the life cycle of the flea depends on a lot on environmental conditions. Fleas flourish in warm climates and usually (but not always) die in the winter season.
Flea eggs are small but can be seen if you’re looking closely. They are smooth and white or light in color. A single adult female flea can produce up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. These eggs may be laid in your pet’s fur, deep in the carpet, or in tall grass. In ideal conditions, fleas will evolve from egg to adult within 2 to 3 weeks. Adult fleas can live up to 100 days.
Fleas are ready to feed within a day of hatching and begin to suck blood within 10 seconds of landing on a host. If the weather isn’t ideal and there isn’t a host to feed on, flea larvae may remain dormant for months while waiting for better conditions to develop. This is a key reason dealing with infestations can be so difficult.
If your pet is a walking carrier of mature fleas, your home can become the nursery. Since the flea has multiple life stages (egg, larvae, cocoon, adult), when adult fleas are present, it is assumed all of these stages are also present throughout your house. This means that you have to tackle the problem from all angles in order to truly eradicate the infestation. To do this, you must treat your pet and its living environment at the same time. Depending on your pet’s boundaries, this may include your whole house or yard.
Having your animals on flea medication will help your furbaby but it will not stop fleas from entering your property. Call a professional to take of that.
The length of time required to get rid of a flea infestation depends on your environment, and how long the fleas have been there. Once dry it should be ok to go outside.
